Nay Palad Hideaway, Siargao

"The birthplace of barefoot luxury, Nay Palad Hideaway nestles between ancient mangrove forests and the soft white sands of Siargao. In easy reach of tropical jungle, underground caves, untouched beaches, deep-sea fishing and the legendary Cloud 9 barreling wave, Nay Palad Hideaway lets you create own rhythm, turning each day into a different story."

It was such an amazing place, that we were already planning on coming back before we had even left. Highlights for us:
(1) Chilling at Nay Palad Hideaway with slow breakfasts, morning yoga, coconuts and Pinot Gris on free flow, kayaks and stand-up paddles in the mangrove, massages, manicures and pedicures on demand, lovely outdoor lounge furniture sprinkled around the resort, and the stellar resort staff
(2) Surfing at Jacking Horse, the most accessible beginner waves in the island. We were accompanied and taught by local professional surfers, and Roo and Red both managed to stand up on their boards and ride little waves within their first hour
(3) Sunrises and sunsets at the Cloud 9 pier. If you want a bit of quiet, go early for sunrises. Sunsets tend to be busier. Enjoyed watching light dancing on the water, surfers dancing on their boards. I hope one day, we can surf with such grace too
(4) Island hopping in our lovely boat with on-demand coconuts and beers. Picnic and snorkelling at Corregidor Island. Sailing to Guyam Island, Daku Island, and Naked Island, and jumping off the boat for fun
(5) Making new friends everywhere we went -- especially at Shaka Cafe and at Bravo Bar. Must be the cute baby effect, and everyone in Siargao simply loved little Box
(6) Swimming and exploring at Magpungko Rock Pools and Pacifico Beach, each about an hour away from General Luna. Was a pretty drive through coconut forests along the way

We are coming back for:
(1) Surfing in all the beginner surf breaks in the island. Will bring a longboard to cruise on land with next time too
(2) Exploring natural wonders at Sohoton Cave in Socorro, Tayangban Cave Pools, and Sugba Lagoon
(3) Would love to shoot a couple or a family in this lovely location!

"It’s an experience of hospitality, freedom and beauty that can never truly be described—only shared."
